Shalom All This is the second part of a two part series given at the Bible Class of Jews for Jesus in Sydney, Part one was the introduction to the Abrahamic Covenant and Part two is on the introduction to the New Covenant. God Bless Paul Jewish Pub Society: Jeremiah 31:31-34 "Behold, the days come, said the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah; (32) not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; forasmuch as they broke My covenant, although I was a lord over them, said the LORD. (33) But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, said the LORD, I will put My law in their inward parts, and in their heart will I write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people; (34) and they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying: 'Know the LORD'; for they shall all know Me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, said the LORD; for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin will I remember no more."

The Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) : Leviticus 23:26-32

Saturday Oct 10, 2009
Shalom All This was part two of the short (10 minutes) presentations I did on The Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) : Leviticus 23:26-3, afterwords there was some discussion about some of the things I mentioned, while the pastor and I did see eye to eye, some had a different understanding about the sacrifices offered, I do hope that if you have questions you will let me know. Shalom in Messiah
Isaiah 53:4-6 Surely he has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows; yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. (5) But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. (6) All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Isaiah 53:10-11 Yet it pleased LORD to bruise him; he has put him to grief: when You shall make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of LORD shall prosper in his hand. (11) He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by the knowledge of himself shall my righteous servant justify many; and he shall bear their iniquities.

Response to an email Paul, Please could you confirm or otherwise that the attached picture is a cliff/rock formation in the neighbourhood of Jerusalem. If it is then I believe this is where you will find the blood stains of Yeshua. Roger. Dear Roger Thank you for your email. 1, This is a digital image of a photo-shop production, this is NOT what it looks like. See the first attachment called Gordon's Calvary, which even at best is hard to recognise. The problem with this Calvary (Gordon's Calvary) is that it is (a) 'relatively new' and so not attested by history and (b) it is a fair way outside of the walls back in Yeshua's days. (c) The Romans used to make a spectacle out of crucifixions. Yeshua was crucified near a well-traveled road, since passersby mocked him (Matthew 27:39; Mark 15:21, 29-30) as such this crucifixion happened just outside the city gates, for the bigger the crime or perceived crime the bigger the example would be made, I personally believe that Yeshua's crucifixion was very close to the city gate. (d) Also against Gordon's Calvary is that this was a ridge not a separate hill — in Yeshua's time. (e) Todays features that makes it look like a skull were not present back in the first century when Yeshua was nailed to the tree. This calvary is also connected with the Garden Tomb which was originally cut out in about the eighth or seventh century B.C.E., in other words during the time of the late kings of Judah. Yet we know that tomb where Yeshua was laid was a "new tomb" (Matthew 27:60) One idea of the rabbis was that "Adam was created from the dust of the place where the sanctuary was to rise for the atonement of all human sin,"and buried in that place so that sin should never be a permanent or inherent part of man's nature (Genesis Rabba xiv) the latter is also mentioned by Jerome in a letter from 386 C.E.. (Please note that most Jewish traditions generally places the burial place of Adam in the Cave of Machpelah, (which means "Cave of the Double Tombs") at Hebron where Abraham is also said to be buried) and not in Jerusalem. Note that no Gospel states why Golgotha was called the "place of (the) skull" it could be because of a Jewish tradition that Adam's burial place was there, or a similarity in landscape feature or something more remote like exposed sculls turn white, this hill was as white as Jerusalem stone. We simply do not know, as such I'll wont be hunting for this or the ashes of the red heifer, or could that be a red herring. Historical most religious places, such as the temple mount and Synagogues, Churches etc are handed over to the conquering authority who destroy them and or replace them with new religious connotations. The site of the traditional burial became a temple dedicated to (Venus) Aphrodite, the goddess of love, beauty and fertility, later this became the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. (Eusebius describes in his Life of Constantine how the site of the Holy Sepulcher, originally a site of veneration for the Christian community in Jerusalem, had been covered with earth, upon which a temple of Venus had been built.) The medieval Christian writer Yahya ibn Sa'id reported that everything was razed 'except those parts which were impossible to destroy or would have been too difficult to carry away'."The Church's foundations were hacked down to bedrock. Since 1980 we now have three sites for the tomb of Yeshua * The Church of the Holy Sepulcher, accepted by most Christians and scholars as built on the ground (including the Hill of Calvary or Golgotha) on which Yeshua was crucified and buried. * The Garden Tomb, discovered in the 19th century further outside of Jerusalem in Biblical times, is considered the 'actual' site of Yeshua's grave by some protestant Christians. * The Talpiot Tomb, discovered in Talpiot, (even further outside Jerusalem), in 1980, which is alleged to have held the remains of Yeshua and Mary Magdalene, and some others. (http://www.jesusfamilytomb.com/) We do not know the exact place, what we do know is what is important, the death, burial and resurrection of Yeshua, and when He will come back Soon Come Lord Yeshua Come Quickly. 2 Regarding the blood stains of Yeshua, it has been applied to the door of my heart (1 Peter 1:18-19 “For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And the ransom he paid was not mere gold or silver. He paid for you with the precious lifeblood of Messiah, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.” ), just as the Passover Lambs where killed and the blood in was applied to the door of the houses just before the exodus in Egypt so to we must apply the Blood of the the sinless, spotless Lamb of God to our heart (Exodus 12:22 "You shall take a bunch of hyssop and dip it in the blood which is in the basin, and apply some of the blood that is in the basin to the lintel and the two door posts; and none of you shall go outside the door of his house until morning". To find an actual drop of blood of Yeshua, is not possible. And to even look for it is a waist of time. The better thing to do is to apply the blood to our lives Blessings in Yeshua the second Adam, and spotless Lamb of God. Paul I have converted both images to one PDF see Calvary.pdf the top images is what Roger send me, the bottom is what it actually looks like.
